The most funny thing is that the Baltics, which are the only EU/NATO countries with actual direct contact with Russia, don't have a base.

There is one in South Kazakhstan (Airfield), for resupplying NATO-troops in Afghanistan.
Why would Kazakhstan allow this if they are an ally of Russia and, both a member of CSTO and SCO?
Because there is no USSR anymore, and Russia is not a true enemy to the West, unless the West actually wants to push them that far.
