Time for an anecdote. Gather round children.
Once upon a time on a Serbian countryside somewhere up North there had been a ceaseless amount of rain that turned the land into a marsh. This fertile water paradise attracted all manner of insects and plagued the citizens to no end. Those horrible mosquitoes meant that unless the sun cast its fury upon the Earth you would have to run for cover and pray makeshift, airtight bunker would last.
Meanwhile deep in this marsh land something stirred. An army was growing.
By the end of my vacation there were no insects for miles in any direction and the citizens ate frog legs for years.

A relieving, mostly unknown fact about spiders though:
They're extremely territorial. Should two spiders encounter, only one will live.
So you can put any silly fear of an army of spiders to rest, they'd kill each other before doing anything.
Anyone like to inform me why they didn't do this in Skyrim? It would of made my job a whole lot less nightmarish if they'd just all killed each other.
Or LotR for that matter. Maybe it's because they have somehow reached a higher level of intelligence and understanding?
