In Portuguese, at least here in Brazil (not sure about Portugal), we also call it 'Abacaxi'. We have 'Ananás' too, although it isn't used.

Abacaxi is not actually a pineapple, but its a fruit of the same familly of the pineapple, trust me Im a chef. We also have abacaxis on Portugal.
