or have some sort of universal language translator,seen alot of sci-fi tv shows/movies that had technology like that,and it could be possible since if they had the tech to travel all this way just to study us.
and i like the idea that they could be watching,since like the show star trek they might not interfere with us until we become more technology advanced.
