if you compare NATO to an empire you must be retarded :)
You know, those empires in this example shat on their conquered "members" (leading to internal instability), NATOs members are all there in according to their free will.

ANd rkraptor it wasn't meant to respond to you but to the post itself, and no I'm not a NATO fanboy, I live in a non-member country and can hardly see a point of NATO without the USSR derping around. So yes NATO may "die" but it won't be overthrown like those empires, hence the whole comparison is moot. The post just seems like a anti-western world joke without any intelligent point much like some Anti-american jokes (not including 'Murica, bombing for democracy, **** yeah) XD
But EU get a steadily increasing political grip on its members and is a wannabe empire, it's fair comparison.
And yes I deserve that karma for such an anti-humor comment :P
Nah they conquered them, they just weren't able to hold Afghanistan. Except in the Soviet Union's case was different.
