Your comment works on several levels of irony though:
-EA megabucks advertising
-the microtransaction money-vacuum (i.e. EA pays for the extra star, thinks "what the hell, might as well buy a hat while we're at it... and 60mil later they realise how much crap they bought)
-60 Mil being roughly the going rate to buy out a competitor's microtransaction money funnel
Or, it could just be that this is the first real joke people are seeing after all the Doge...
