Realistically speaking Kaiser Wilhelm II did heed an ear to the plight of the workers rights unlike Chancellor Bismark. It was one of the points he took into consideration before reaffirming the power of the Kaiser over that of said Chancellor.
He even sent a formal decree to the man over the issue which was one point of contention ultimately leading to Bismark's dismissal.
Tell that to the Entente. If they stopped viewing Germany as competition and instead as a friend, WWI would've never happened in the first place. But some people just can't stand the thought of getting topped as a colonial power. Whatever, if Serbia had given into Austria's demands things would've gone much differently.
When one thinks about it honestly, if Germany hadn't been screwed over so badly at the Treaty of Versailles perhaps we would've never had the second world war to begin with. You may claim Wilhelm screwed up, I assert the Entente screwed up in it's own right setting the stage for what would result in some of the worst fighting in human history decades later.
So easy to look back in hindsight, when all is said and done eh?
Actually, getting trade laws that protect the worker, is very christian.

Then again Wilhelm II was mostly an incompetent asshat who let WWI happen.
"Let?"
