This is not GoldSrc, but i compiled it on final version of HL2.
I don't think you understand lower. These are the alpha maps. About 2001 - 2002 So the mapping is still similar to Half Life. It's not on the GoldSrc engine.
It's a basic script of the Source Engine, which was finished in 2001.
Like GoldSrc-maps, plenty of things were still made using brushes, like the Conscripts' Merkava tank was brush-based.
