The self-acclaimed most "free" faction in the Zone, Freedom consists of laid-back potheads and anarchists who seek to gain free access to the Zone and it's anomalies. Because of this, they are very popular among Ecologists, and have been at war with Duty (a faction which seeks to block off or destroy the Zone) for a long time. NATO sees Freedom as a sort of fail-safe if Clear Sky should fall, and secretly supplies them with weapons and ammunition, hence their wide usage of Western firearms, and their German-styled "Flecktarn" camouflage pattern.
