Hey there, have been on Desura almost 2 years now, in that time I've used the client on both Windows and Linux during it's beta. I noticed today that on the Desura site there's an option to search through Mac games available on Desura, is there currently any beta version of Desura for the Mac? If so, is it possible to apply to gain access to the Mac beta version? Cheers! |

There is no Mac version of the client yet. No Mac developers have stepped forward to help with the client on Mac. Work has been done to see that it compiles with the same compiler Mac uses but it was compiled on a Linux. The UI would need some work to make a Mac version. The UI I believe is the biggest task to getting a Mac client up and running. The engine under the hood shouldn't need too much if any changes because it could use some or all of the same stuff the Linux version uses. All the toolkits/libraries used are cross-platform compatible for Windows, Linux and Mac. Right now Mac users can download Mac games from the website. Everything is done in theory on the backend/server to support a Mac client. It would take testing with a Mac client to make sure everything is correct and there are no problems. Someone ported it to Mac and started a thread on general forums: Indiedb.com Screenshot: Imagebanana.com Edited by: feillyne |

Actually what he did was get the Windows client working on Mac using WINE. It is not a native client and so it only installs Windows games. Edited by: Protektor |

That's no good... it seems only a native client is needed. Edited by: feillyne |

I could need help with this by experienced Mac OS X developers. I've created a branch with a compileable here: Github.com Currently the client is crashing after a login, but I don't have much time to work on it though. -- Desurium is the open source version of Desura. |

I have a few friends who use Macs and it would be nice if there was a lcient for them that worked properly. |
