no one can deny that bf2 (and 2142 since its almost the same engine) is a fail compared to 1942 and vietnam. no naval assets, no support for big ships, shit ragdolls/physics for vehicles, bad looking effects, ranking & unlocks (i loved to join a map, select kit and just fight and not wasting time with unlocks and levels), utter shit hitboxes (if a player is in a vehicle or in a vehicle as a gunner, try to shoot him, most times the bullets will go through him and he wont take a single damage) and so much.
this is why i prefer to play & mod the older battlefield titles
Even if the original alfa version of BF2 was worse, its final version was (and still is) an amazing game which is much better than DC mod, in my opinion.
You don't like BF2, then you don't play it. I happen to love BF2 and yes I've played all BF games. BF2 and BF2142 are my fav.
i never said i dont like it. i like it and its a good game (i wrote it into the pic btw, it was made by me. read the last part where i wrote "battlefield 2 is a good game"). so please dont sheltering me that i said i dont like it.
its about facts here and not opinions, and the fact that bf2 & 2142 engine is in many aspects worse than older titles, is something undeniable which has nothing to do with hating a game or not, neither a hater, nor a regular bf2 player, nor fanboys can deny the bad aspects of the bf2 engine and that they make things worse in bf2 than in 1942 and vietnam.
i played bf2 long time with friends, gaves me good memories, still the engine sucks, no matter how much someone loves it or not.
its all about facts, not opinion.
oh and what i forgot is: that bf2 shader system is broken, unlike in 1942 and vietnam xD
Well I don't agree with you. BF2/2412 engine is very good, not perfect but still good. For me BF2142 version is better version over Vietnam and BF1942. Look at PR and FH2, look what they made of "bad" bf2 engine. There for I don't agree with you. BF1942 DC mod improved engine in the same way that PR has improved it.
Battlefield 2 also have a naval asset but need to create it
they were already created and these mods proven that bf2 engine doesnt support naval warfare properly like it was supported in 1942 & vietnam. reason of that is again the wrecked physics of bf2. try to walk on a moving ship in these mods, you will get damage. same with landing a plane or helicopter on a ship in bf2 or just placing a jet or helicopter on these ships. they will fall from the ship or takes so much damage, that they explode and that just for parking on a ship.
mods can add naval content, but only with workarounds and even then not at the same level of the older titles.
So what are we talking about, you mean PT boats in Vietnam and that's it, same as in BF2. BF1942 has Destroyers and submarines, but BF2142 has Titans, so more or less the same. There was a fun playing with ships, but most fun was always on land. I have no regrets that ships are not included in BF2 or BF2142. Now physics could use improvement (when talking about vanilla game). I am a big fan of BF2/2142 much and I've played all BF games. I don't agree with you. I don't like that you talk trash about BF2. BF2 is THE LEGENDARY game bro, more legendary then bf1942 or vietnam.
What you say about Lion's Roar? There have ships with jets and helicopters that work well, and good weapons and maps.
