Deja vu much?

Just cause a few extremists commited horrible crimes does not mean that all religion is to blame >.<. I may not agree with Religion (at all), but this is stupid >.<

No offense btw xD.

Religion doesn't really try to advance human society though, it can stagnate it or even cause great harm to people (Dark Ages, Crusades, Alexandria library).

Talking about "modern" religion xD. I agree that Religion was horrible and stupid hundreds of years ago (specially the Crusades).

At least today it is simply stupid (in my opinion).

Actually, the problem is that everybody was ignorant on that age. People wanted power. Kings had power. And the one which had power can easily manipulate people...

Hey, this still happens today...

And learn about how to compare religions, plz... -_-*

@Velancious:

Advancing society and advancing technology are not the same.

I believe that technology is neutral, but also that people aren't:

So much of our technology is severely misused: mass networking (the media), modern weaponry, medicine ("there's a pill for everything"), surveillance, chemical warfare, mass production (increase quantity - decrease quality), the use of cloning, genetic engineering, etc.

I think that, for now at least, we should focus less on advancing technology, and more on reconciling what technology we have with the people who use it.

We can do both you know. Advancing technology and using it for good can be done at the same time if people just watch what is being made.

The atomic bomb was made in times of war and honestly, should have NEVER been made to begin with.
