This is something different than just a mere verse or a metaphor.

Castaneda wrote: I am already given to the power that rules my fate

Connection to the Spirit, Abstract, Abstraction, Infinite Intelligence that is so abstract that is incomprehensible to the reason (reason is just an island in the sea of eternity), the Abstract that can be only witnessed.

Castaneda wrote: and I cling to nothing, so I will have nothing to defend

Self-explanatory, detachment to things to avoid being dragged to excessive materialism and heaviness.

Castaneda wrote: I have no thoughts, so I will see

Literally see, through Buddhist meditation - cleansing of mind - or e.g. Toltec seers' stopping the so-called inner dialogue.

One can perceive reality as energy, but has to train to develop such an ability. (Meditation and squinting eyes is one way to do just that.)

Castaneda wrote: I fear nothing, so I will remember myself

Remember the purpose of being somewhere, "myself" is a metaphor for personal truth.

IMHO, some of concepts and general ambiance of Assassin's Creed reminded me of Don Juan's teachings that were recounted by Castaneda.

Description

I am already given to the power that rules my fate.
And I cling to nothing, so I will have nothing to defend.
I have no thoughts, so I will see.
I fear nothing, so I will remember myself.

Detached and at ease,
I will dart past the Eagle to be free.

- Carlos Castaneda, "The Eagle's Gift".
