good luck :) I'm also toying with the idea of making an ME163 komet (WW2 German rocket plane) but modernized to a degree. I want to launch one in pursuit of one of the so called UFOs & see what happens. >:3 I'm hoping the whole UFO hing isn't some kind of USAF secret prototypes because if they are id be in some deep **** just for chasing after them. 0.0
But for now im just focusing on creating a wooden & aluminum body of the plane.
The wheels are not a good choice for a military mech seeing as they can be easily destroyed by various small arms & mines among other explosives. As a civilian design it may prove to be quite innovative if the balance issue is solved.
because a well made armed & armored walker can go & attack were conventional tanks & IFV/APC are incapable of going or limited in effective operations.
For example such a mecha would be quite effective in CQB in heavily forested, rocky/mountainous, & urban areas.
2 legged walkers are too unstable so thus the most logical design would be that of a Tachikoma from the anime Ghost in the shell.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
(is it 1 or 31 today? :< )
T'is part of the riddle
Its 31
hooray 2044 ...
I expect to be driving mechs to work by then :P ...
I doubt mecha will be mass-produced if it's only the 30 years later. :P
Not for civilians any ways maybe for the military but it would be rather primitive mechas by our standards. :P
If not, i will design one.
Im not getting an engineering degree for anything >_> ...

I was actually designing parts in solidworks the other day for something like this out of curiosity:

why prefer mechas? those rickety things are impractical and resource hunger. :P

a 4 to 6 legged design would provide a very mobile & stable weapons platform.
