Description
Set in Italia, the Agency has set up a special division in which young girl, mainly chosen because they are easy to brainwash, are given weapons and readied for counter-terrorist and counter-intelligence. Here the girls are given cybernetic implants of which allow them to fight with better reflexes and sustain heavy wounds.
Now can someone tell me if I should watch this?

Eh, I already watched it, but my thoughts on it are:
1) There wasn't enough action or gun play,
2) The storyline is quite morbid,
3) It was an interesting concept, but wasn't executed to my standards...
I don't recommend it strongly, but I'm not saying you shouldn't watch it... -.-
it's more drama oriented than action.
i think you haven't watched any morbid anime.
i agree with the rest though - idea was ok, the execution was meh.
So you're saying that its not actually that morbid ...
(Ive seen lots of morbid **** out there :P )
To be honest, this is one of those shows that i have taken note of, but it has never ever reached the "Watching now" list ...
Which is kinda bad since i believe its been free on funimation for a while ...
The description kinda makes me think its like "darker than black" though ...
Unfortunately, 'morbid' animes are what I watch the most these days... =(

There are 2 series, Gunslinger Girl, and Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino. Teatrino isn't really the sequel of the first series, and each follow 1 of the 'emotionless' girl assassins emotions (Henrietta for the first, and Triela for the 2nd).
Like mrparty said, there isn't much gunplay like we wanted to.
Storyline wise, evan tough has it's touch, it's left really wide open, good for a sequel(s) for both series. The idea behind it was actually really good, but seems unfinished.
But i actually recommend giving it a shot, i enjoyed it and i'm still looking for more animes like it (if anyone knows, tell me :P).
(been reading the manga bits every now and than, and it's been better than the animes)
And to you Maxen,
The cybernetics and brainwash only work on girls between a certain age (preteen up to teen), after that they all end up dieing due to the body regeting the cybernetics/other reasons. (real reasons -> young girls with guns = sexey)
