I present you a (kinda teaser) pic from Dorohedoro.
What you should know about this manga:
-a sorta postapocalyptic setting
...with occult and magic involved. not your usual wands & flashy fx crap though.
-lots of grotesque
-lots of gore
-lots of morbid humor
-lots of charming (even if brutal) characters
-decent art and unique eclectic designs
-complex storyline that didn't get even slightly boring after 15 volumes
-it's being written and drawn by a chick :3
more to come soon. i will occasionally molest you with Dorohedoro pics till ones of you that don't mind gore check it out.
er.. what is this? (what is Dorohedoro?)
i thought i wrote a description? it's a manga, dude.
It makes me think of Silent Hill...
which is similar but not set in the future
I haven't played that, but i bet Dorohedoro is much more bizarre than SH.
though i recall from some interview that author of Doro is indeed a fan of Silent Hill. and her manga definitely has some nice horror atmosphere from time to time.
yeah, found it:
"Q: One of your earlier manga, Maken X, was adapted from a video game. Do you play video games? If so, which games are your favorites? Do you think video games had any influence on your storytelling or art?
A: I didn't start playing video games until I was an adult. That's a little late, but I do receive lots of inspiration from games. I love the Silent Hill series. I think the design of the various stages is incredible. These days I'm really into Dead Space."
sounds like final fantasy in grim dark future.
