This group is for everyone who likes all kinds of ancient, roman, medieval, renaissance, and other old weapons and units from the past.
Leonardo da Vinci's proposed concept of a Tank which is propelled by two men powering crank shafts. It was once constructed in a BBC documentary by a military team and one of the gears was changed in order to make the machine work. It has bee suggested that Leonardo left this error in the design on purpose to prevent unauthorized people from using it.
Saw this in a documentary promo, not the documentary itself called DaVinci's Machies on Discovery Channel!Awesome show! :)
And about this "vehicle" was amazing! You could either disguise it somewhere when attacked by some enemies then fire, or send this along with your troops to scare the enemy and when in range fire!Im talking about using it in ancient time of course but it's better it wasn't used cause it would have made battles unbalanced! :P
no, I think it would been pretty useless, since the cannons can only shot at one direction, and even with grapeshots it would reload to slow. Then it would move extremly slowly makeing it a perfect target for artillery.
Davinci was totaly against the war .But he created some of the most advanced weapons of his time.
because they were needed...
anyway very genious
The design didn't allow for the wheels to let it move forward.
I think it is then one of the best pranks in history xD
Leonardo Da Vinci makes me proud to be Italian.
Da Vinci was a true artist in every way ! and to those doubting it; It was the first of its kind, was the Renault any good besides the fact it had 360 rotation ? Hell no!
