Annette "Nachtigall" Zweig joined the Belkan Air Force to live out her dream of becoming a pilot, becoming one of the top aces of the 8th Air Division, 7th Fighter Wing. However, all this changed when she was caught eavesdropping on the briefing for Operation Eden. She was eventually forced to prove her loyalty to her country by aiding Ashley Bernitz in shooting down a flying ace who had also objected to the plan over B7R.
Consumed with regret, she requested a transfer to a South Belkan base where she would try to redeem herself by stopping the Operation Eden bombers over Stier Castle. She was shot down in the post-mission chaos and escaped serious radiation poisoning by hiding out in the giant stone castle. A sympathetic contact within the party cleared out her military record to avoid retaliation from the fascists, and after several stints as a private contractor she returned to the reformed BAF in 2005.
