The year is 1946 and the Nazis are on the brink of winning World War II. In an effort to turn the tide in the allies’ favor, B.J. Blazkowicz must embark on an epic, two-part mission deep within Bavaria... Part one of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves - pits BJ Blazkowicz against a maniacal prison warden as he breaks into Castle Wolfenstein in an attempt to steal the coordinates to General Deathshead’s compound. In part two – The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs – our hero's search for the coordinates leads him to the city of Wulfburg where an obsessed Nazi archaeologist is exhuming mysterious artifacts that threaten to unleash a dark and ancient power.
Cool game, but very short.

Great prequel to a great game, but chronologically wise I absolutely don't get it considering that it's clearly a remake of a first few chapters of RTCW, but New Order actually considers RTCW and Wolf 2009 as a canon with references to those games which only makes this whole thing confusing.

Wrecked! Total disaster, i want to shoot somebody with my shotgun and cry like an animal. Machinegays blow up my beloved game. Don't punk out on my, i hate this game and i feel right with it.
I think perhaps what older games did better than newer FPS games, they gave us a better sense of the illusion of freedom, a couple ways to go around, secrets to find and player=satisfied. Now its somewhat more rare. Instead greater linearity provides a tighter story, don't miss a single thing the developer wants us to see. But yeah little bit of handholding and cutscenes don't bother me so much when the game at its core is great fun. Thats what matters, if the core is great and if characterisation of enemies/allies is great, a couple of awesome set pieces to top it off, creates for a memorable experience. Than it all ends up feeling worthwhile. I accomplished something by kicking nazi ***.
Maybe its just a matter of perspective, seeing the good and not seeing the bad as that big a deal. This game is has the following issues:
Unskippable cutscenes, some are quite long.
Handholding is not optional, it tells you exactly where to go to progress to next areas. (The previous game had this optional, only showing up on the map)
The Beginning is really boring, it goes on for ages as you have to do some mandatory stealth sections and continues not for 15 minutes or 30 minutes but just over an hour.
There is alot less variety in the areas you visit, so the set pieces before where extremely fresh. Now it just seems like we've done it all already.
The game is fairly easy, so you have to play on the highest difficulty to get any real challenge. Its mainly because you can see snipers from a mile away due to laser sights, enemies are very inaccurate and predicable as they usually just rush you, and health is plentiful (glad its not regenerating health, well first 15 hp is but still), however they are really good at throwing grenades so you expect to be having near deaths at points.
Characterisation was a big strength in the previous game, here you don't really know whats going on and why you should care. It just leading you from one place to another with no sense of direction or purpose. So its weakness is the lack of a strength of The New Order.
Another somewhat disadvantage is the fact that the New Order had a great setting, what if nazi's won WWII? Old Blood just retreads late stages of WWII all over again. We already have Return to Castle Wolfenstein for that, which made the whole occult aspect and crazy nazi technology of the war front
center. As it stands its very hard to recommend this game, its technically marvelous, its still fun on higher difficulties, its still killing nazi's with fast pace, but it doesn't have the same magic.
I didn't play a lot of 2015+ games that have modern engines, including New order, but comparing it to older Wolfenstein games I see they stayed true to that unforgettable half-WWII half-steampunk styling. Anyway I loved every bit of it both visually and the physics and the Wolfenstein 3D mini-games, great nostalgic experience, and of course Brian Bloom's Blazkowicz character sounded cool. Maybe the plot could be better, but aside from that a great game.
BEST GAME, EVER! I LOVE THIS GAME. I REALLY LOVE THIS GAME! MY HEART IS FLYING WHILE I PLAYING THIS! People must give a rating like "99/5". Yeah, that would be cool.
