Unreal Tournament is the sucessor to the awesome game that was Unreal. Boosting the most advanced gaming engine when it was released, this game kicks some serious arse. Unreal Tournament's got it all without a doubt: ton's of amazing levels, kick-ass weapons, brain-melting modes of play, unbelievably deadly bots, and a slew of other features bound to have your happiness glands working overtime! I have not even mentioned the mod's either, and boy are they bountiful and bloody brilliant, with titles such as Strike Force. So give this game and spin, then crank up a few of it's mods and you will be wondering how you lived without this game!
This skinpack gives all of the original playermodels plus playermodels from the first bonus pack some extra colors (specifically black, purple, cyan, teal, and orange)
This skinpack allows you to use 5 extra colors made for each vanilla skin, specifically the ones for all of the soldiers and commandos, the original Xan, and all three of the playermodels from the first bonus pack. Keep in mind that these colors are in the form of an extra skin for each vanilla skin in the game, so this doesn't actually give you more teams to choose from. This was made so that you could have some more variety with character customization. The extra colors you can pick are black, purple, cyan, teal (or dark teal/pigment green, rather), and orange.
Changes from the previous version:
-Included skins for Skaarj Hybrid, Nali, Nali Warcow, and Boss
-Fixed some artifacts with some of the skins (e.g. Male Thunder Crash, Male Blood Reaver, and Metal Guard)
-Reindexed all of the textures with IrfanView
-Set the textures to their proper LOD setting in UnrealED
-Made the Orange and Cyan skins more vibrant (Orange skins no longer look like peanut butter yay)
-Reworked the Aphex and Female War Machine skins
To install this, copy the files in the System folder in this addon to the similarly named folder in whatever directory you have UT99 installed, and the same goes for the Textures folder.
If you have the Steam version of Unreal Tournament, the directory would probably look something like this:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Unreal Tournament
In order to get the Nali and Nali Warcow skins to work properly, you'll need download UsAaR33's Nali/Cow fix (the specific filename is bp1fix.zip). You can find the file in these urls:
I would recommend hitting CTRL+F (Or whatever shortcut for the Find fucntion you have for your broswer) and typing in "bp1fix.zip" in the searchbar since it'll be easier to find it. If all of the links end being down by the time you read this, you're best bet would be to search for "bp1fix.zip" on Google or even try the URLs on the Wayback Machine.
However, if you feel that it's not worth messing with it, then you can just leave out the tcowmeshskins_ExtraColors and tnalimeshskins_ExtraColors files.
Also, make sure that you have the first Bonus Pack (It should come with the GOTY edition of the game) so that you can use the Skaarj Hybrid, Nali, and Nali Warcow playermodels.
Credit goes to Shane Caudle and the other artists at Epic Games that worked on UT99 for the original textures. I extracted said textures from the game with UnrealEd and edited them with Photoshop and GIMP. I also used IrfanView to reindex the textures since it seems to do a better job at that than GIMP and Photoshop, so now there's less color banding going on. Special thanks goes to papercoffee from the UT99 forum for making the suggestion of using IrfanView, and to Dr.Flay from the UT99 forum for advising me to set the textures to their correct LOD setting in UnrealED.
