A mod allows you to fight as a Russian Spetsnaz against NATO.
Russian voices and story, for Ghost Recon, Desert Siege and Island Thunder
This mod was made in 2012 by Chudy Picio. I am only uploading it here since I had trouble downloading it from main page. I had to try several times until I was able to get in. I am not a creator, I am only uploading it here as Download Mirror. Main download site is here:

Russian Player Mod
Basically, the mod changes the sides of the conflict in the game,
so now you can fight as a Russian soldier against the British and American forces.
The plot in the mod is similar to the original plot of the game,
the only change is that now the British and Americans are the aggressors
and Russians along with their allies are trying to stop them. The two remaining campaigns -
Desert Siege and Island Thunder - are basically the same as without the mod,
except now the player commands Russian soldiers instead of American soldiers.
How to install the mod:
1. Move the Russian Player Mod folder into Ghost Recon's Mods folder. You can find it here:
PC: C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon\Mods
PC (Steam): C:\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Ghost Recon\Mods
Mac: Macintosh HD\Applications\Ghost Recon\Ghost Recon Data\Mods
2. Launch Ghost Recon, click Options, and then select the Mods tab.
Select Russian Player Mod in the Available Mods list on the left,
and then click Activate. Make sure the Active Mods list on the right
looks like this, with Russian Player Mod at the bottom / with the highest priority:
Desert Siege
Island Thunder
Russian Player Mod
3. Click Accept. After that the mod should be already launched.
IMPORTANT NOTE, PLEASE READ IT: in order to play Russian Player Mod properly, you just have to
launch one of the original campaigns: Ghost Recon, Desert Siege or Island Thunder while the
Russian Player Mod is launched.

Looks really cool. Is this compatible with Heroes Unleashed?
I don't think so, give it a go
Hi, I'm the maker of this mod. It's pretty old, I was young and inexperienced when I made it. I'm thinking of a remake, but I don't know when I'll be able to make it - but it'll come one day, so stay tuned!
Really nice work mate, the mod is awesome and in the end it became my main mod, every time when I reinstall and play GR.
I'm really glad to hear that!
the mod was great, thanks for made it!! :D
anyway you can make this compatible with heros unleashed, Also make unlockables for replayability like specialist and different guns you have to do unlock on game mods.
been wanting something like this? anyone know if we can play online?
Niiiice
Dude was just looking for a mod like this to mix up my nostalgia fix ! Any plans for the remake still?
