The (*) Open World is a top down 2d game I am making for a personal 72-ish hours Gamejam I've dubbed "GunJam" because the theme is guns (more about it on my blog nemirc.wordpress.com). I am making the game using GameMaker Studio (my first GameMaker game, yay!), and it was inspired by the news of the 3d-printed "wiki-weapon" and what would happen if EVERYONE had a home-made gun. I have nothing to show yet, but I will be adding screenshots o show all my progress! The goal in "The (*) Open World" is very simple: survive the day.

Description

Nothing to show yet, actually, because I'm still giving my first steps into GameMaker (to tell the truth I've only used it once.
So far I have my "player character stand-in" (that horrible drawing, I made it with the laptop trackpad) and its controls are fully configured. You can move using the WASD keys, and you can use the mouse to aim/change direction.
I need to check if I can add a bullets counter so you don't have an infinte ammo count. Since you use a "3d printed gun" you can also 3d-print more bullets (at least that's the idea so far).
I am about to test the "killing" feature so other characters die when they are shot.
More progress coming soon, and the full game (plus source code) will be here when this is over on Sunday!
