Even in its early days, Althas has been a land shaken by conflicts. In the early days, these conflicts pitted the Anointed Kingdoms of Men against the dark and demonic forces that threatened them. However, with the passage of time the world has changed. With the Anointed order eroding away and new powers rising, another war looms on the horizon, a war brought on by Man's own actions. Thenodar, a burgeoning new kingdom in the North, and Anorthile, one of the last of the three remaining Anointed Kingdoms, now prepare for a war that will shake all of Althas. Old demons and new enemies gather in the shadows of both lands as each sets their sights on the ruined wilderness known as the Feralands.

Dammit, now I want to play it again lol

Anyway, looks great.
On a side note, will the house interiors be separate worldspaces like in the TES series?

That's pretty much what I meant as Crysis 3, Portal, Portal 2, etc. Had functional windows but they weren't open world like AC4, Skyrim, Witcher 2, Lays of Althas etc are.

Or Skyrim. Most of the so called "cities" in Skyrim only had a few people in them and most the of the population was made of guards/soldiers.

Well that is a sort of compromise you have to make. You can either have fewer npcs but have them be somewhat intelligent with routines and dialogue or you can have huge masses of brain-dead npcs (more like Assassin's Creed). We want to try and strike a balance to have good sized crowds but still plenty of intelligent npcs to maintain immersion.

Well, whatever you come up with I'm sure it will be good. On a side note could you answer a question for me; what is that tower/ruin in the far background in the image? Thanks and all the best in your game creating endevours.

You guys should make a suggestion thread for tavern names.

I demand "The Drunken Dragon Inn" for nostalgia reasons. :)

Actually, that is a pretty standard naming convention for Inns and Taverns. Though we could potentially slide a certain reference in as a name ;)

The models look very nice and the architecture is great (lots of variation). The street does look very lifeless however. The whole road is perfectly maintained and seems fairly artificial and there are no unique details that stick out, but that can be fixed fairly easily with some shrubs and rubble.
Looking good, very pumped for this.

Well there are a few bits of clutter, but the road itself was made with the road tool so it is pretty fast and basic. The focus of this demonstration shot was the buildings after all ;)
