Tannhauser Gates is an RPG Top bottom Space Flight simulator game developed by SpaceCloud studio. What we want to achieve with this game is a complete experience where each and every aspect of the space game genre has been explored. From engine managing to spaceship customisation, crew hiring, missions, roleplay and trade. Our ambition is big and our studio is small ( a two man cell ) but we have the brains ( or so we think we have ) the experience and the ways to achieve our goal. This blog will be the place to follow us, from our first baby steps to the deep depthts of space and beyond! follow us on twitter: SpaceCloud@TannHauserG
After the theory, here comes the live test! Everything is doing well so far on controls, we implemented enough parameters and tweaks in the designs to do a test run. Believe me when I say the first ships we tried are a real fun to fly around!
Of course this is only the first stage, and the gameplay is not there.. yet. But when you do a Space Sim, you have to make it right. In Tannhauser Gates we want the game to be one third action, one third tactic, one third long run strategic.
Yes there will be energy management.
Yes there will be ship rigging to get the best tools and crew hiring to improve your chances of success before going on missions. But on the top of that you want to test your skills as a pilot, and get your heart pumping in the middle of the action!
The video also showcase three different type of Light Fighter engines, three slightly different ways of flying, your choice, always.
some thoughts about spaceship designs, and how we plan on developing the production of plenty of spaceships with a small team.
