Talisman Prologue is an adaptation of the classic Fantasy board game Talisman by Games Workshop. This version focuses on single play structure. As the slogan says, this is where the Magical Quest begins. For those unfamiliar with this classic world of fantasy adventure, Talisman is a game like no other – indeed, it is no ordinary game but a fantastic quest in a world of magic and monsters. As you play, a story unfolds from turn to turn: a heroic epic of brave deeds, daring encounters, treasures and magic, of battles won and lost, but always a tale that enthralls!

10/10 - Agree Disagree

I find Talisman Prologue to be a highly immersive game. Hence my giving it a score of 10. From my perspective it is beautifully designed and quite convincingly captures the feel of a tabletop game. In regards to this latter point I will expand. The artwork and graphics, while simple, are highly polished and it is this polish which sets it apart. It is very difficult for me to describe in terms easily communicated to others but there are times when I could almost feel the game pieces or die. The sound quality also adds a great deal to this, the roll of the die and the sound of cards are just right. On top of this you have some very nice music indeed, again getting it just right, for example low woodwind textures to accompany the Troll character, great! No review should be one sided however and Talisman Prologue does seem to have attracted its fair share of criticism. It must be said that this has mainly come from players of the board game Talisman proper. And fair enough I say. If you have been playing Talisman with friends for many years then yes, you may well find yourself disappointed. However I have never played the board game. And Prologue serves to be exactly that. It has thoroughly whet my appetite. And if paying £6 to further development will result in the much anticipated multiplayer and freeplay games then I shall support this project gladly. Excellent work.
