SOS takes place in the country of Akirath. Its sprawling mountains, deep green valleys, blue rivers, and twinkling skies are home to humans, elves, creatures, monsters, and more. On Akirath’s South Western border lies the Runara River and, next to it, a small farming village named Alezia. This is where we meet Azil and his siblings, Lillia and Itori, and where our story begins.
Unbeknownst to the tragedy prepared to befall them and the harsh decisions they'll have to make, the player gets to play through their final peaceful moments together before everything goes wrong. The tragedy leads to our hero, Azil, making a tough choice entirely in the player's hands. What you choose will affect what Azil focuses on and who joins him on his journey. You discover the threat facing the world and why your family was targeted. Or maybe you want Azil to go it alone, chasing his desires above the sanctity of the world. The choice is yours.

SUMMARY
Symbol of Sacrifice (SOS) is a High Fantasy Sci-Fi visual novel with a heavy jRPG inspiration driven by player choice. It tells the tale of the epic clash between two civilizations in their desperate attempt at survival. Our story hones in on the humble beginnings of the cataclysm in our heroes' small village of Alezia, where we follow them through the tragedy that befalls their family and their journey toward redemption. During which a vital decision must be made. A sacrifice or a trade. The choice is yours as the player, and the game will be split into three unique storylines with different encounters, locations, battles, endings, and more based on your decision.
THE DEMO
The Symbol of Sacrifice demo is a major step in the development of the full game. It shows the first 3 chapters of the game and gives a taste of the unique battle system and cinematic storytelling that players can expect from the gull game. As a demo this is still a work in progress and with the planned onboarding of a publisher the final version is likely to be improved. The demo is an especially important milestone for Umbrella Labs as their first public product as a studio, but stay tuned, there's plenty more in the works!

ABOUT UMBRELLA LABS
Umbrella Labs is a small software studio based in the US. Khanondrum, the founder of UmbrellaLabs, started crafting the Symbols universe in February of 2023. Like most indie-devs he has been a gamer all his life, from binging jrpgs as a kid to competing in league of legends tournament in college, gaming was always a part of his life. Together with a team of talented developers, directors, artists, voice actors, musicians, and more, he assembled a small cast that rivals the talents of AAA studios.
