At the moment, we're calling it Subvert RTS, but that's just a working title.
Technically speaking, this is not the same game we had previously announced--this is not just a change in perspective or genre. It takes place in the same world, and many locales, characters and story lines will be carried over to this new game.
So what goes and what stays?
Team tactics, character and weapon customization and progression are all in. We feel these elements are at the core of what Subvert will be, and these will be the pillars upon which we will build the game.
First person perspective is gone. This will be a top-down RTS.
And what about thew new? Two words: Single. Player.
The AAA Indie FPS vision we had for Subvert was not the right focus at this point, and we lost sight of what we really wanted to do. Switching our focus to the core principles will allow us to build a game that we can be proud of.
From here on out, we'll be opening up the doors into development of this new game and we hope you'll come along for the ride!
