They said they were following community feedback. I guess this is what people wanted.
It might stay as what they were heading for but might add a RTS side to it. (There is a lot of games that are going to be a tactical online FPS) So they need to compete with them.
See my post on the main page. Also, there is a post awaiting for approval with more info (or you can read it now at www.subvertgame.com
This is, in fact, a new game.
I'd like to shed more light on what is going on: Garnering any real attention as a FPS is really, really hard. Yes, we have you guys, and we're extremely thankful that you've been following the project for this long. But on a bigger scale, it's hard to get noticed.
Now, that is not to say that we don't think we can make a unique and fun FPS, but as new developers, we need to make a splash--and the FPS genre is VERY crowded as it is.
To re-iterate. We have not given up on the FPS, but this is a more logical first step for DHB towards that goal.
like i said on the main page, its a shame because i don't like RTS games, i am a real fps fan. but, that doesn't mean that i don't understand why you are making the change. and you are right, to get noticed in the FPS field you need to be really good these days.
i hope this change will bring you what you hope it will do for your company.
Woah woah woah, wait a sec. RTS? This game is supposed to be Third Person (or first person) shooter...why is there this RTS here?
