The game you've all been waiting for. State of Decay is an open-world zombie-survival game, developed at Undead Labs and produced for Xbox 360 (via Xbox LIVE Arcade) and PC. State of Decay (formally codenamed as Class3) is a third person zombie-survival/action game developed by Undead Labs and published by Microsoft Studios. The end of the world has come, and players must explore an apocalyptic landscape while fending off hoards of zombies. The XBLA version of the game haas been released on June 5th, and a PC version will follow afterwards. The environment is an open-world that evolves over time, generating varying content depending on player actions. Players can set up a fortified safe area, form raiding parties, create supply chains, and collect resources.
This mod aims to recreate the world of the undead as envisioned by the father of zombie movies, George Romero. The Romero zombies are the classic slow shambling zombies who only want to eat your flesh. They are very persistent and the only way to kill them is by destroying the brain or causing severe damage to the head. The living dead series by George Romero is known for the atmosphere of dread, where even though zombies are slow and weak, they eventually catch up to the humans who end up going against each other due to their personal desires. Modern Fast Zombies have also been added as another choice for gamers to use. I believe that giving gamers the ability to choose how they want to experience a game is the best way to make them happy.

is it possible to mod the way loot spawns?
Because you could work around the Breakdown issue with extra ammo by making ammo more common loot.
Or at least mod what you get from breaking open an ammo cache.
Because either way, a military cache full of ammo that only contains 10x .22, 10x 12 gauge, 10x 9mm and 10x 5.56 is neither military nor full.
Actually I just found it in class3.1\rts\search.win.bmd
It describes the limits of ammo contained in Common and Military resource caches and the rarity of all items.
Hi Adeno. I use your mod's Slow Zombies ,More Zombies,Black Fever and its not work... I do everything with the instruction + i try to play game from New Game and still noting + it created folder "libs" with these files from each folder's :(
Why these mods not work to me? Please help .
are you sure you are putting the files from the mod inside the game folder? and when i say game is the folder called "game" inside the state of decay directory. If this is right, have you double checked if the version of the mod you are using correspond with the game mode you are playing? playing Breakdown with the breakdown version files, or the main campaing with the campaign version files of the mod?

I think I found a bug that's possibly related to the mod, particularly the nospecialzombies. In Breakdown, I got a mission to help neighbors find armored zombies. After driving around the specified area for the longest time, we never found any and I have no way to exit the mission or save. Is there a way to make it so special zombies still spawn properly in missions?
that means the file nospecialzombies is working in all ways..
i used the file 28BD-NoSpecialZombiesExtreme and have not see any special zombies in my game (played for 2 hours)
Yeah, but I thought I read somewhere that specials should still spawn in missions that sort of require them?
In this version they spawn for me at least. During the free roam I am seeing any special zombies VERY rarely but when some mission requires special zombie - its always there.
Great mod! Thanks! Now it's a game I always wanted:) I installed custom features (classic slow, but very deadly zombies is my kind of thing:) ) and have encounter two issues - radio is not working for me. Tried to play from the start and after the church - same thing. Maybe it's because of changed button for radio use in settings? It's important thing in this game. And "no special zombies" didn't work either. They still appears when I'm on side missions and with "ExtremeFatalAttacksAndLoudFirearmsMod" it makes them truly deadly opponents, because their speed has not changed.
Adeno, have you any idea about at least the first mentioned issue? Thanks.
Note! I have no other mods installed, except one changed skin for Maya.
Oh, I forgot to mention that this is for main story game.
I just tested the radio for Main Story (Free Fast Service) and it works perfectly for me. I never included any key changes for any of the features. It must have something to do with your control set-up.
Radio becomes available after the survey mission from the church :)

Great work, Adeno! The game is now so much enjoyable, thanks to you. Although the mod is great, i still see some space to improvements. If i may suggest some other features i would think about: 1) make zombies not allowed to climb walls, fences and such. 2) force cars to use Gas from the base stockpile. 3) make silencers more durable, yet more expensives to create, or make them permanent and retractable.
Just somme thoughts. If possible to do, would surely add to the immersion in the game.

Coming up in T17:
- More Enclaves for Breakdown.
- Extra Ammo and Weapons in random enclave lockers for Breakdown (finally figured it out).
- Fix for "Hunting" missions in Breakdown so you won't get those missions (replaced them with other missions).
- People trade more often in Breakdown.
