In the distant future... Space travel, exploration and exportation are a booming industry. Ranging from mining, colonization and commerce. Despite best intentions accidents still happen and sometimes ships get lost. This resulted in the creation of the Salvage and Rescue Operations Initiative. STARDROP is a narrative driven Sci-Fi first person adventure and exploration game set in the future.

It was quite an enjoyable ride so far! I was in awe when I was the first time ingame. I have nothing to complain as a hobby level designer. Every assets is in harmony with each other and the design is an eye candy for every sci-fi fan out there. The game works surprisingly fine on low end PCs. I played it on the highest settings without much trouble :) I think it will be mind-blowing if this game supports VR since it has such an unique and beautiful environment.

The voiceactors did a great job too. English is not my native language but I could understand the conversation pretty well and clearly. I only had a little trouble to understand everything at the beginning because of those noise I guess.

One thing that some people might not enjoy is the first person helmet. I enjoyed the full view without the helmet very much because I can see all the great details and everything. Like I said on the bonus stage video the first person view camera is placed a little to deep inside the helmet which reduce the vision much more than normal. If you compare it with the 3D arts from the MC her eyes won't even see the under parts of the helmet. Making the helmet view optional or tweaking the helmet vision would be a good solution imo.

Well, this looks very promising so far :) Keep up the great work and turn this into your next masterpiece! You have my full support!

Why is there no v-sync? Also performance was not perfect on my SLI 980Ti i7 4790k setup. I also had a problem where the baked reflections were very high quality, but the real time stuff was super blurry, which meant that as I approached surfaces they snapped to a lower perceived quality. The ship that you see through the window was noticeably stuck to my view. I don't think any player would let that slide, even if they did not understand why it was happening. The text in the opening is kinda bad. I don't like the font. Its also very aliased. I think if it was less sharp it would look better. I did not like either character at all, and the writing felt very forced and generic. Incredibly so. The space suit visor first person metroid prime thing is too narrow and silly. That's not how helmets look. If you want that kind of effect, you should DOF the rim close to my eyes or do distortion around the edges instead, maybe smudges and dust on the glass. And the default walk should be just a hair faster, so players don't want to run quite as often.

With all the bad stuff out of the way. I have to say, the game is gorgeous. I would really enjoy exploring the environment in VR I think.

First thing first technical aspects: Not enough video options (was stuck in windowed, couldn't resize the window well), no key binding possibilities. Ok im pretty sure this will be added but that's not the best first impression of a demo i had.

The character: she looks skinny in a really unhealthy way, at least from the shadow she casts. No reflections yet but i could see a bit of the helmet reflecting in the ship windows at some point. Funny. Also when you run to the props and door you will be able to see through it.

Overall the ambiance seemed really calm and peaceful... Maybe a bit too much. The textures look decent on the ship but there's not much interactions, probably also a lack of animations for the character, i was expecting to see arms and hands pressing buttons for example.

In the end not much happens, it looks okay graphically, there's a universe that remains me Interstellar for a bit but it's too short, hard to have an idea of what it will be just with that. Can't really have any real opinion on the game.
