Spacemen is intended to be an open-platform Java based space game. The game is not focusing on high-end graphics, accurate simulation on real scale of space, but on game-play. The universe will be procedural generated and persistent, all the actions in game will have permanent effects. You will be able to rise a fleet for conquer or hire help when needed, build an empire by trade or crash economies by battle. It's up to you!

Regarding your question, the game is not released, most probably will be this year and again most chances are it will not be free.

Actually after a time to think it over, you will be able to build modular ships. It's almost done, I will post info soon.

The models will be predesigned, the stats will vary from game to game, faction to faction and all will be modable. You can however add your own models in the game. But no modular design for the models.

For the moment is not longer available, because it became obsolete feature-wise. Soon I will upload a test build again...

Why would you do this? People can get a better idea what your game is going to "feel" like if they have something "solid" to play around with - It doesn't even matter how unfinished or outdated the demo is
