Hey all, we reached alpha stage and this is the first demo for you to play!


There is no manual at the moment but there will be in the next release. Meanwhile you can find info here:
- controls: Indiedb.com
- minimum requirements: Indiedb.com
- features: Indiedb.com

If your license expires, just delete the [HOME]/username/Spacemen folder and you can play on.
Please note that this is an ALPHA sandbox demo edition.

I can only recommend the hardware based on feed-back from testers. So is also a great moment to try it on your pc and let me know how it's working ;)

Also tested on my even older pentiun 4 HT (Hypertrading tecnology) with just 1gb of ram, and 512 of vram :D

yes although somewhat slow when landing in a planet :) thoguh with the 1gb videocard got solved

Well, in the first tab, where your name and universe name is, which you can leave default, you hit the offline button. That's it ;) if nothing happened, make sure to check the home/username/spacemen/console.txt or send it to me.

also you released the alpha earlier so my recomentation are:

Do a model uploader/ship edior (ingame or not) it will make it easier to moders to make awesome ships to it :D


just imagine a Death Star slowly flying throught a star system, it defensive turrets setting of thousand of ships, preparing the main weapon to attack, well since destroying a whole planet would be as game breaking as system (fps?) intensive, would be just a space station maybe even a city in a planet like in universal combat, just leaving a crater if posible, or atleast a large patch of scorched earth.

Just imagine the kinds of ships would be developed as the systems get better and more powerful... maybe would be posible to destroy a whole planet, just making a big awesome explotion and leaving a high cuantity of asteroid like chunks.

About the download yes while i wrote this i was downloading it :D

There is already a model editor in-game, but it needs more work and also a manual :) Thanks for testing!

Pd: Hey about the modular ships and the like you should also try to create a tutorial to uploading you know, models to it :D

The MINIMUM requirements:
OS: Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, Solaris
Memory: JVM heap size > 256MB
CPU: > 1 GHz
GPU: AMD/ATI Radeon 9500, NVIDIA GeForce 5 FX, Intel GMA 4500, or better supporting OpenGL 2.0 or better (native libraries are included in download)
Java: 5 or higher The Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is required.

Recommendations are to be set after alpha stage (this December).
The occupied space is subject to change as more assets are added, at the moment is around 200MB so not too big.

About the modular ships, yes will be in the digital manual, but not for the alpha stage.

You just said abvove 1ghz? like any prossesor newer Pentiun IV prossesor?

Plus, there will be navigable planets, i know you surely aswered this but i wwould like to know about the planetary buildings like spaceports and orbital cords (lines or whatever i do not remember the name of it)

Sorry that I missed your question about planets, yes, you can fly from space through the atmosphere, land on planets and dock with buildings seamlessly, with no loading screen.
