Sovereign 1.3 Windows 32-bit
Oct 14, 2012 Full Version 0 commentsSovereign is a free hunting/survival game. Use your bow and arrow to hunt animals, collect food and other elements used to create new arrows and jars...
Sovereign is a hunting and survival game designed to be a relaxing experience. Similar to real life sport hunting the challenge in Sovereign comes from actually hitting your target. Difficulty is left to the game player in that you can walk up and smack your target with an arrow at close range, but it's more challenging and rewarding to take your time and nail that target from a good distance. The choice is yours. Sovereign also adds the additional element of survival and inventory management. You must keep yourself alive by collecting food from the animals that you kill and retrieve items such as wood to create new arrows so the hunt can continue. Sovereign is an enjoyable game to work on so I expect to continue development of this game by adding additional environments, animals and features as time progresses so check back!

Sovereign has been placed on the back burner for the time being whilst I work on another game. I'll probably revisit Sovereign at some point in the future, but I couldn't say exactly when that will be.
great game, are you going to advance the ai so that they dont just ignore their commrades dieing beside them or when a arrow lands an inch from them? and btw, where do you find sand?
There is the difficulty issue that arises with animals that respond to arrows that land near them. Especially for beginners hitting a target with one shot is tough, if they start running away after that miss I think people are going to have a lot more trouble finding food. In the future I may find a solution for this, but it's not high on my todo list.
You can find sand in the Oasis area. Look for the humps of sand on the ground level, you might have to climb up some to find the sand.
thanks, well a solution to that might be making food more rewarding or more food for each kill
Indeed that is one solution. There is also the possibility of including a difficulty setting so people can further customize their experience with Sovereign.
Hey I have not been keeping track so I do not know if this is required yet. Do I need to eat food to survive?
Heh, food is "Used to prevent starvation."
Just played the new release. Nice job on the on the main interface and the inventory. When that things ran at me I panicked and shot half my arrows :D.
Did you increase the abundance of animals? I felt like I found quite a few more than before.
Heh, the meloch adds a fun new dynamic to the game I think and I really enjoyed working on the new interface, the icons add a nice splash of color in my opinion.
I did not technically increase the abundance of animals, I added finer control over the amount of animals spawned in each area. In earlier versions animals were spawned at random based upon a percentage chance that an animal will spawn, but that was only approximate so there was always the possibility that very few or quite a few would be spawned. In working to stabilize performance I made a minimum and maximum amount of animals that could be spawned per area so it should be more in some cases and less in others.
