Soldat is an action packed shareware 2d shooter. Don't let the lack of the 3rd dimension get to you, because this it's an action packed game drawing on the roots of many popular titles. Weapons are chosen in a Counter-Strike style, and the weapons are modern machine, and sub machine guns of the CS style. The landscapes and view are vaguely Worms like, except everything is guns blazing realtime instead of turn based.
Soldat delivers in the gameplay department as well, packing in 5 game modes from capture the flag to team deathmatch. Sideview maps can be created with the editor. New weapons and graphics can be made along with interface changes.

Today is June 15, 2007. I logged onto MOD.com and found Eradication Mod for Soldat on the front page. Looks promising so I will download this game and the mod to play. From the looks of people comments, it is awesome. If any one is looking at comments like myself to decide to download or not: I think you should because I did. Spare you the work of browsing through comments. Ironic isn't it?
when i install soldat after prompting the window where it tells me whats being installed as it is installed, when it gets to soldat.exe, it says theres a problem and i have to abort. any help here?

Only if you download it from a site thats not safe.
Unzip the installer file and just install it to any directory you want.
