Shallow Space is a 3D Real Time Strategy game inspired by Nexus: The Jupiter incident and Homeworld. Shallow Space focuses on organised mass RTS space combat in a fully 3D environment. Ships in Shallow Space are nearly always grouped into Flotillas and Wings, and orders issued to these structures cascade to the subordinate members. Rather than stressing out clicking on the units or dragging selection boxes during the heat of battle, standing orders are issued in advance leaving you to zoom around, activating abilities and arranging support and reinforcements. Should the tide turn in battle traditional control is still available.
Here's a close-up of the Light Carrier no armaments as yet as I'm testing fighters, it certainly makes the battles more interesting.
How much fighters can carry?
Good question, I find that between 6-8 wings of 3 fighters is comfortable as they will rarely travel alone, these baby ones won't be ale to produce fighters so they'll have to return to the relevant faction shipyard for replen.
The Capital Carrier can hold 16 wings of 3-6 fighters and produce it's own fighters.
Oh and to prevent the scene being cluttered, they will launch one wing to patrol around the pack they are in and will launch a maximum of 3 wings at a time during combat.
So many of these little rules, tricky stuff :)
