To understand what RuinValor is you must first gain knowledge of how it came to be. The roots of my desire to make video games can be traced back to Neverwinter Nights; while the singleplayer certainly leaves something to be desired the multiplayer was the jewel amongst the stone in my mind. Packed with a toolset editor, the ability to create, modify, and share worlds of your own is what interested me the most. Couple that with an in game Dungeon Master mode to enhance story telling for the hosts player base and what you obtain is a powerful set of tools that assist in maintaining interest in a game long after its initial release. I have long believed that if you put the proper tools in the hands of the people who make content ( modders and such ) the life of the game can be infinitely extended. game. Throughout the design process I have ensured the core concept for all systems put in place rely on the single factor of customization.

We are working on releasing the pre-alpha later this month. The kickstarter will be in March, and assuming we get 100k + we will do the alpha right after that. The game will be released late 2013 or early 2014. For anybody who puts into the kickstarter, they will gain access to our main server for assisting in testing and development.

I have spoken with some people around the different communities who are following this and we are going to be doing a MOD contest soon. We will release the code to the mod teams and let them make mods for the game. Whoever wins the vote for best mod will win $1,000 and their mod will be added to the game as official content.

We have lots of working parts, but... yeah its coming along.

Nice :D I've couple of questions:
This game is going to be free to play?

The pre-alpha is a release for developers search for bugs or is a open pre-alpha?

you are saying that the team will release the code to be able to create mods, this is for all or the team will choose a couple of developers and give the code only for them?

p.s. sorry for my english xD

The game will be 10 - 15$ one time purchase. We are not sure as to what the final price will be as it very much depends on how much money we can get from the kickstarter. The more money we get the less the price we have to charge to offset development costs.

I own a gaming community. The first 50 people invited to the pre-alpha will be the members of my community that won the prize to gain access. From there we will invite people who pay money to the kickstarter campaign. You will see this in the next few months after we get some more development finished.

We have what is called an API, this API is not our original code but shortcuts that can be called to interact and force our code to do things. Normally API is used to allow people to mod your game. We will be releasing the API to the public and holding a contest to see who can come up with the coolset mod.

Your English is fine.
