A lowpoly M16 and Ammo Crate
Looks good. My only suggestion is that the magazine is too long. If it is a 30 round magazine it needs to have a curve to it.
Americantactical.us
It's an extended clip. Note the tape.
Its two 20 round magazines taped together.
That wasn't practical in Vietnam. With the weather and the elements, dirt and mud would jam the other magazine that had the rounds exposed.
Thanks guys, we will fix this up, We have decided to curve the magazine. Updates soon
Looking forward to it.
The thirty round clip wasn't invented until the M16A2.
Well if you want to get really technical the casing deflector shouldn't be on there either and the handguard is more A2 shaped etc.... but i still think its an awesome piece of work and something no one will notice from the view point. Please understand my prior point wasn't to be seen as critical more that im saying people will nitpick.
If you are looking for an experienced texture artist with a history degree a bunch of modding experience and a large collection of military rifles from 1870s to present day drop me a pm. Would love to be involved in this project.
If memory serves me correctly, the XM16E1 (M16A1) and throughout most, ifnot all of the Vietnam war, they only had the 20 round mags, Later on with the release of the M16A2 with the NATO curved 30 round clip, the US military started using the M16A2 early to mid 1980's
I realise that it's also a game, So I'd probebly highly reccomend leaving out the M16A1's... Issues with jamming and melting and exploding (Thus why most of the US forces dumped their M16A1's for the AK-47's)... :P
