I'm a 19 year old Student in Belgium, in my first year IT. I started to make this game in my spare time, and I'm am working on it still. I'm programming this in Java, since it's the language I'm most familiar with. This game is going to be an RPG. Swords, magic and more. Currently I'm still in the early stages, but I'll keep working on it in my spare time.
This release includes spells, a skill tree and a number of changes

I finally finished my exams and started working on the spell system.
I successfully found a way to implement and use the spell animations. This wasn't as hard as expected but i had to think a long time before realizing it could be done in a simple way.
I boosted the fps to make the game run better, this also gives an overall smoothness to the game. The reason behind this is to make the spell animations better. Here's a screenshot of the animations:
As you can see the result came out nice with these hd spells. I also added a functional skill tree: you can add skill points and deduct skill points.
Since this is a test build, you still get access to all skills anyway, but you also get 10 points to distribute, and you can redistribute 5 of them. The skill tree looks quite nice. here's a screenshot of the skill tree:
I Also added a loading notification when you are travelling between maps. This is more clear because otherwise you might think the game is lagging.
I'm currently free so i'm going to spend a lot more time on this game, so expect much!
Next steps are probably attributes or simple stationary enemy npc's. I'm also going to implement a little sign where i can put up information.
