The Gravity Gun is a brand new addition that flips gravity around. Here's a quick high-quality diagram that shows how it's used, but please try not to be jealous of my intense drawing skill.
The gun isn't quite finished yet, as it doesn't have any animations, sounds or particle effects, but these will all come in good time. Along with this comes the first level for World 3, which has a green colour scheme. In this level you have to guide a cube to a detector, using only the Gravity Gun to send the cube in all directions. The level is also only half-finished (sorry about this, I've had tons of other work to do from all directions, but I thought it would be better to get out an update at least), and the second half will come soon.
The Laser Gun has had an upgrade too, much like the previous update brought you a new Force Gun. The new Laser Gun continued the blue theme, with the added improvement that the crosshairs will follow the path of the laser beam so you can aim at stuff much more easily than before. Along with the updates for these guns, all the guns and every level are unlocked from the beginning, so you don't need to complete a string of levels just to play one you enjoy anymore. When I figure out a way of saving data between two playthroughs of the game, which will probably be when I release a desktop version, I'll change this back.
A few of the levels have had new 'scaffold' blocks added to them for decoration, and the basic 'blocky' texture has largely been replaced with a new, more 'tile-like' texture. In a few cases, the level layout has been altered and new obstacles have been added to increase the complexity, as some levels were previously too easy.
In the Hub World, the cube crusher room has been emptied out ready to host another feature, which will be kept top-secret for now, and a few experimental textures have been added in random places to test if they feel right and fit the theme of the game. The level selection building is a bit larger now and has some of the new decorative scaffold blocks, and also dispensers for a new purple bouncy cube. Each level also has a name - these are displayed above the level banner.
I have many different directions I could take the game in, but my favourite idea so far is to have a second protagonist (as well as a true identity of you, the player) who will communicate with the player periodically to provide information. This might require voice acting of some kind, as well as a proper text engine, but the end result will be worth it. The whole facility the game is set in will probably be turned into a space station, giving the game will have a stronger sci-fi theme. I do plan on upgrading the turrets in the game to something much more interesting, and eventually I hope to add mobile enemies but I'm unsure on how to implement them. But these are all things for the future, so in the meantime I will continue to add features and put some more levels together.
You can play the game here, and you can read the post for this update on my blog here.
