Play Burn Zombie Burn, Lucius, Alien Shooter 2, Plain Sight, Primal Fears and Droplitz in the latest Indie Royale bundle.

Posted by redblueq1 on May 13th, 2013

The Mayhem Bundle, this week's manic Indie Royale collection of games, is worth over $60 and features 6 action-heavy video games from a clutch of independent developers from around the world.

Burn Zombie Burn, Lucius, Plain Sight, Alien Shooter 2 Conscription, Primal Fears and Droplitz are available in this week's bundle.

Burn Zombie Burn

Burn Zombie Burn is a critically acclaimed action game from doublesix games in which the best type of undead is barbequed undead. Your task is to keep protagonist Bruce alive as he attempts to keep his girlfriend Daisy alive, while netting the highest possible score by burning, battering, shooting, maiming, exploding, mincing, and obliterating as many zombies as possible. Described by VideoGamer as having "depth to keep you coming back for weeks, if not months down the line" this is the ideal game for high-score chasers who like their zombies well done.
BONUS: Burn Zombie Burn Original Soundtrack
Burn Zombie Burn is available for Windows via Steam.

Lucius

Lucius is a third person horror adventure inspired by the first movie in the Omen trilogy from Shiver Games. In the game you take control of Lucius as he begins his blood filled tour of horror through his own house, using Hell's powers of telekinesis and mind control to orchestrate deadly accidents that will decimate the population of the Dante Manor. With a strong story and cloying atmosphere to match, Lucius is a frightening game to scare even the hardiest adventurer.
Lucius is available is available for Windows via Steam, Desura and DRM-free.

Plain Sight

Described by PC Format as "one of the most original indie games we've seen in ages" Beatnik Games' Plain Sight is a multiplayer arcade game about suicidal ninja robots. Fly through space, leap over planetoids and destroy opponents with your deadly katana, while chomping on energy to make you bigger, stronger, faster and generally more awesome. Simple, elegant and well-presented, Plain Sight is, in PC Gamer's words, "one of the best times you can have blowing yourself up."
Plain Sight is available for Windows via Steam.

Primal Fears

A top down arcade shooter with survival horror styling, DNS Development's Primal Fears asks players to battle their way through multiple levels, earning upgrades, competing against friends and working to uncover the truth about the pharGONe chemical, which has upturned the world. Use a variety of weapons to stop the mutated population, and save yourself from becoming the next victim.
Primal Fears is available for Windows on Steam.

Alien Shooter 2 Conscription

This update to the cult classic Alien Shooter 2 blends action and RPG game mechanics to create something utterly unique and compelling. With the world in the grip of terrorizing monsters besieging the capital cities, your task is to battle the alien invaders as a private soldier from the regular army. The future of the world hangs in the balance, humanity's freedom rests upon your shoulders.
Alien Shooter 2 Conscription is available for Windows via Steam, Desura and DRM Free.

Droplitz

Blitz Games Studios' Droplitz is a fiercely addictive puzzler in which you must twist and connect mismatched dials to save precious droplitz. But there are hidden depths here to master. Just making a single junction is child's play; can you master the art of the combo? GameDaily hailed the game's "immensely satisfying micro-level gameplay" while IGN warned that the game is likely to "claim several hours of your life before you even notice they're gone."
Droplitz is available for Windows via Steam.

$8 Bundle Bonus
Phonetic Symphony (Remastered) by Chipzel - Chipzel is the alias of Niamh Houston, an independent Northern Irish chip-musician who uses Gameboys to create energetic, melodic dance tracks. Through taking the original 8bit sound and manipulating it into something frantically hard-hitting, Chipzel has seen crowds of all ages turn to "raving loons", taken right back to their days of retro gaming. The newly remastered Phonetic Symphony is one of her most striking records, and the bonus for those who pay $8 or more in their local currency for The Mayhem Bundle.

I would have bought the bundle due Lucius, if I didn't have it already. The rest of the games are taken from the steam garbage bin, it seems.

I also dislike the mystery game stuff with puts IndieRoyale finally down on par with IndieGala's steam sales.

It would be cool to have the old IndieGala-style selection of games with most of them also in DRM-free versions as well as Desura stuff.

Just compare this bundle to the upcoming Groupee Be Mine 8 which will be out soon and this bundle will have in addition to the formula of the current Indie Royale bundle some interesting indie titles I've never seen before:

- Patrician IV (trading strategy game, Steam)
- Drakensang (already have boxed copy, excellent RPG, dunno if steam)
- Fairy Blow Freesia (never seen, looks cute, I think will be Desura/DRM free)
- Paranautical Activity (never seen, FPS with spiders?, I think will be Desura/DRM free)
- Constant C (never seen, puzzle platformer?, I think will be Desura/DRM free)
- Slam Bolt Scrappers (never seen, puzzle action game?, I think will be Desura/DRM free)
- Blood Bowl Legendary Edition (fantasy warhammer football, steam)
- +2 mystery games.

The bundle starts with 1 US$ and the full bundle will be about 5 US$ I think. In comparison this Mayhem Bundle looks really dull.

Well, this is a major disappointment. Only 2 non-steam games? I can either buy the bundle, download the 2 non-steam games, and find torrents to download the DRM-free versions of the other 4 games or I can skip this bundle entirely. I'll take the latter option. I used to like Indie Royale bundles because they did not require steam. Now they're just like all the others. Bummer! I want Lucius, but I guess I'll just have to buy it from Gog or something.

Have they fixed the issue where Droplitz does not run on ATI graphics cards?

I already own Droplitz and I haven't been able to play it for the past 2 years because it doesn't work with ATI graphics card, until I bought a new PC with an NVIDIA graphics card.

I'm bad with words, but everything about this bundle just feels wrong. It's like they misinterpreted why the Lunar Bundle was a success and just delayed this bundle in order to grab the Steam leftovers no one else wanted. No seal of quality, just a bundle for people that refuses to play games unless it's on Steam. For the next (new) bundle, let someone that actually play games compose the bundle. This is just embarrassing.

Just look at the Groupees Be Mine 8, it has already sold about double as this bundle. No wonder.

Need to be said, that BeMine 8 is unfortunately pretty much Steam-oriented bundle too. 3 of 6 in 1$ tier is Steam only, in 5$ tier only one is not Steam-only.

Steam is the most popular platform. You're ignorant for expecting them not to take advantage of that. Don't be stupid.

But this is NOT steam-made bundle, its bundle made by desura to promote desura and so on. Its MUCH more strange for them to become bundle selling steam-only games. Its just like you will open store, but you will sell not yours goods, but concurrent goods for their profits.
Anyway, YOU ARE much more ignorant here, since desura users not against selling of Steam keys, but they against of selling steam-only games.
