As The Nameless One, an immortal who has lived many lives but has forgotten all of them even forgetting his own name, journey through the city of Sigil and other planes to reclaim memories of your previous lives.
This game is truely a masterpiece, the level of depth to the characters and storyline is amazing, the mix of seriously story telling, comic antics of your side kick and the graphic and sometimes brutal description of events keep the game both interesting and challanging. Truely a unique game and years ahead of it's time. If you love rpg's this is a must.
Morte
A magnificent, heavyly story-based RPG with excellent twists and revelations, that manage at occasions to bring forth strong emptional reactions as the [your own] background step by step is unveiled.
Lovely and memorable NPCs, interesting takes on the typichal RPG concepts and items tex. (Dak'hon's sword is made even more awesome being the only one in the game, for example), a straight foreward but still appealing character building system and uniqe environments make you want to come back.
Awe-inspiring story of an immortal seeking his lost mortality. Storyline-wise it's excellent, either equalling or even surpassing Baldur's Gate. Its multidimensional sceneries are vivid and feel enormously variegated.
On the other hand, it has numerous downsides:
- the game supports only 640x480 resolution though there is a widescreen mod
- assortment of buyable/obtainable equipment is quite small
- the game seems little unfinished (with a few secrets left unanswered, and some secret "goodies" which is actually unfinished stuff left hanging in the code)
