The updated PiratesOTSS demo includes some additional game mechanics, showcasing navigation on the world and local map.
Hey, thanks for looking into the Demo of PiratesOTSS. This is a feature demo showcasing navigation, ship and crew upgrades and extensive battle mechanics like fire, boarding maneuvers and so on. There is now such thing as a learning curve, yet, just complexity from the start and a only partly self explaining UI. Balancing is not done yet and some weapons are a bit to strong. The finished game is going to contain additional mechanics like sail damage. A more detailed overview on planned features and how the final game is going to look like will be published over the next weeks in form of a number of articles here on indie DB.

It isn't the prettiest game, but it is really good that you are focusing on features now more than anything else, I think more clarification on the UI elements through labeling, or some descriptions would help.
Any form of audio would also be nice, even if it is just a simple song playing on loop in the background, but for now this is shaping up to be a solid foundation of a game, interested to see what you do with it.
hey, thx a lot for your feedback. some tool tips (totally not satisfied with the UI) and audio are in the making. and i know that i have to work on a more consistent graphic concept. I am more the game design and developer guy ^^. thx again, chris
