This is the 3D Model Render of one of the first bosses waiting for you in Oliver&Spike: Dimension Jumpers. We show it to you because you'll see it in action in a game-play mechanic video soon :)
We are currently working on the actual fight, the puzzle and dimension jumping involved. Since we don’t want to spoil too much before all is ready both for a proper video and the actual demo for GDC 2013, we share a step-by-step image of the huge chicken with you and a few numbers for those interested:
- Modelled in 3D Studio Max.
- Polycount: 6920 tris.
- 4096×4096 diffuse, specular, normal map textures.
- Sculpted in Mudbox.
In game the boss is 3,3 meters up the top of his hunched back and about 6 meters long, including tentacles.
That sure is like one nasty piece of work! Lovely model :) It will be very interesting to see how dimension jumping will be used in a boss fight!
