Nice game runs pretty well on my older computer (1.6GHZ) Yet the graphics look just like Minecraft. I hope you can add more stuff in the future.
You don't have to go through the Minecraft route though. Maybe you can add multiple storylines, each one set in a Minecraft like environment. What about something like Ace of Spades. (Ok now I think I'm getting a little too carried away)(Thinking.. GTA Minecraft, Halo Minecraft, ok now I'm shutting up)
So far it looks ok! I hope you will be adding animals, monsters, plants, water, objects, tools... hehe on second thought if you do it, this game will become Minecraft. My point is, it's not really playable now.
The direction that this game is heading in is to include some sort of storyline. To everyone who believes this is simply a copy of Minecraft, this game has many different features. You may have heard of a game called Infiniminer. This came before Minecraft and is where Notch got his inspiration. It even inclues the whole idea of mining using tools. But Notch built on it... he added many features and game modes and made Minecraft into what it is now.
Unfortunately, I haven't really seen anything in this project that couldn't be done with a Minecraft mod. I think if the author puts a little more effort into making this project stand apart from Minecraft, then it'll give him more space to try out different concepts. As it stands though, a lot of it is pretty much identical in terms of style and presentation - the logo even uses the same font. And, I mean, the name itself sounds strikingly similar to Minecraft.
I am impressed that you can make something like this in Game Maker, though.
Where you download this one?
MyCraft can run pretty well on even 1.6Ghz Intel Atom single core processors and requires barely any RAM at all, as I happen to have a spare 10 year old notebook with that exact spec above, should the main PC break down. The game runs at 25+ fps on this and will regularly reach the max of 30 fps.
Okay :D you got me now, tracking!
you do know that adding stuff will make the game more demanding for the computer right ?
