After spending two years in a tiny island nation called Kiribati (pronounced kee-ree-bas) I fell in love with the amazing people and their culture. I'm making this game in homage to them. Based around a fun Polynesian fighting game. You will learn about the people, language, culture, and legends of Kiribati while exploring the island of Butaritari.
My Kickstarter has just gone live! Check it out!
Kiribati (kee-ree-bess) is an island nation located right in the middle of the Pacific, about halfway between Australia and Hawaii. It is one of the poorest countries in the world, with problems like malnutrition and limited access to proper medical care. It also suffers from overpopulation, with the town of Betio (bay-so) being almost twice as densely populated as Tokyo–without any multi-story homes.
As I’m guessing you’ve never heard of Kiribati before, you’re not alone. And if you actually have been there and have ever tried explaining it, then you know the struggle.
