Please do make that face mask bullet proof in game as the real world version is made with freaking titanium. small rounds non AP rounds like Belgian FN 5.7mm & NATO 5.56 cant really penetrate that thing unless they are point blank.

then that's all anyone would use.

karstin Apr 14 2011, 4:21pm replied:

actually 5.56 would have no problem punching through that. Those helmets are for protection from explosive fragmentation and debris

it does stop a variety of pistol rounds though.

oh ya sure the helmet doesn't break but i'm sure the neck would break and everything in the skull that makes you tick would rattle around pretty good.

Phenixtri Apr 14 2011, 7:37pm replied:

If shot from the side of the temple than yes the weight of the helmet coupled with the kinetic energy of the round can snap the spinal cord in the neck area.

5.56mm NATO can't penetrate? I'm sure you got that wrong.

Phenixtri Apr 14 2011, 7:33pm replied:

non armor piercing 5.56 mm at distances greater than 2-300 meters cant penetrated it but it will leave a big *** dent & knock the soldier on his ***. Steel core 5.56 mm however will have no problem.

Regular lead core copper jacket 5.56mm round fired closer than 200 meters are still dangerous as they still have enough kinetic energy to punch through with ease. Its all just a matter of physics & the characteristics of the particular round fire & at what velocity & distance that round is fired.

this hlmet is already bulletproof in real life and in game , so argue all you want

AS I said before you cant argue with physics & im not arguing im stating facts.

facts from internet? i saw that helmet in action

Phenixtri Jun 13 2011, 9:29pm replied:

Basic laws of physics u wank. Its not hard to calculate the density of the material as well as the density's of the rounds fired at it as well as their velocity.

And by seeing it in action what do you mean did you actually see the ballistic tests? I for one have seen that data and from that data I was able to make my conclusion.

txlgr23 Jul 17 2011, 4:11pm replied:

the 5.7 round was designed to penetrate ballistic armor... thats why they made it, for some SWAT teams.

Phenixtri Sep 25 2011, 3:47am replied:

Well for military and law enforcement in general tho they are preferred for CQB actions that SWAT and CTs in general have to deal with.

As for the 5.7 round it would depend on the type of round being fired as the original AP round is the one that easily penetrates ballistic armor while the far more common regular lead core copper case round do not.

lol. adding black ethnicity to the spetsnaz would be the most obvious use of a forced "token" character and would probably be more insulting than not including them.

The beanie is a tad too dark, contrasting too much with the rest of the head. I like the mask+cap, it's a real classy look.

There is still something funky about that dudes head. If I were to make a few nitpicks I would say that this dude needs a more natural transition at the hairline, perhaps a bit more volume to the hair, the caps/hats/helmets could look a little tighter on his head, eyebrows just a bit less blocky and a bit more texturized (so you can pick out a hair or two from a little further, especially round the edges), with maybe a bit more square a head, like this tennis player here: Ontennis.com
Course these are just nits, its not like your crytek or anything. Anyway, great job!
