Heretic Enhanced seeks to amplify the classic Heretic experience with improved and realistic visuals, lighting, and combat. Various SFX have been taken from Brutal Doom (with Mark's permission), to make Heretic a more visually pleasing and exciting experience with improved decorations and magical effects. Weapons have been brutalized with the 1D8 damage values replaced with static values and recoil plus screen shake effects to make them feel more powerful. While all monster projectiles have been enhanced to be visually pleasing along with particle spawns when they collide with an object.
This Heretic addon adds or modifies:
- Brightmaps for every monster and weapon
- Dynamic lights for all projectiles, fire, explosions, and magical SFX
- High definition liquids, splashes, fire, particles, and explosion SFX from Brutal Doom
- Staff & StaffPowered can perform up to 4-hit combos with primary and altfire combinations
- GoldWand fire rate has increased along with the ammo capacity
- GoldWandPowered now fires like a Quake lightning gun
- CrossbowPowered now fires like a railgun
- BlasterPowered now fires like a shotgun
- HellStaffPowered now fires like a BFG along with the BFGSpray
- FireMace has been replaced with the RavenStaff from Hexen II
- RavenStaff fires a horizontal spread of five explosive projectiles
- RavenStaffPowered fires a horizontal spread of five seekermissile ravens which rip monsters apart

I thought about it, recently played through Hexen as a fighter and then started working on Death Knights of the Dark Citadel as a Cleric and said, "screw Hexen'. I was not having fun so, I don't see myself ever returning to Hexen specially DKDC.
Looks cool! Not entirely compatible with Reikall's Heretic Voxels but the new sprites and effects are worth it :)
Very nice and the effects are amazing! Is there a chance to add an optional addon to have the original Firemace (but better balanced for this mod) instead of the Ravenstaff?
Idk how I would make it better. I think the firemace is a just silly dumb weapon like Raven ran out of ideas for what to make the last weapon and came up with that goofy thing.
We need an universal water /liquid enhancer for heretic !
