PsychicParrot Games is proud to announce a massive update to Headlong racing!
This new update 1.1.8 brings the most requested features such as mouse steering support, control sensitivity adjustment and audio controls. As well as all that, the audio has been reworked, the lighting has been improved in all levels, there are new effects (such as new tire smoke effects, exhaust smoke and fire boosting), there's a new in-game UI and gameplay has been tightened up to make driving even more fun!
For full release notes, you can read them online at the game's website Psychicparrotgames.com
More information on Headlong may be found on the Desura page Desura.com or by visiting Psychicparrotgames.com
Money made from Headlong goes back into Headlong. This update was funded by sales to the Headlong community. As a lone independent developer I am truly grateful for all of your amazing feedback and for your contribution to a game I sincerely love to work on!
Thank you for supporting independent game development!
Jeff Murray (PsychicParrot Games).

This game looks good enough on the surface, but when you get in there and actually play it, you realize the cars have zero grip. Come up on that first turn, barely hit your analog stick to the right, and you KEEP going right, the car doesn't straighten out. Wait for it, wait for it... CRASH. All because there's no grip on the tires. Increase the grip to make driving actually possible, and you'll have a good game here. As it is, it's unplayable. (And that's with quite a few driving games experience under my belt.)
I realize being a one man development team is difficult, and kudos for getting your brand out there. Do some tweaks and you'll have something here. I just call 'em like I see 'em.
any multiplayer in the future?
Sorry, no. As a solo developer with no $$, I can't realistically afford it. Doing multiplayer properly takes a lot of dev and even moreso, a lot of testing and tweaking.. more than I could do right now.
great game bought :)
Mouse steering would be cool
Thanks for your comment! The new version I have just uploaded has mouse steering support. In the options menu, it is now possible to turn on or off mouse steering! Version 1.1.8 should be available for download very soon.
AWESOME!!! WOOOOOOWW!!! I really like this game!!! Go ahead, Psychic Parrot!
I'd love to put out a Linux version, but 1) I need to sell around 300 Headlongs to be able to afford it and 2) Unity 4 isn't actually out yet so I can't even if I had the $$ ... but if the budget is there and the demand is there, I'm all for it :)
U can download the beta with Linux support ;D
There's been a noticeable lack of racing games in the Humble Bundles. By all means, if you're seriously considering porting the game to multiple platforms you should consider submitting this game to them.
