Growing Up is the story of a little boy that uses his imagination to escape the hard times of growing up. The adventure begins when the boy football gets stolen by the bullies that are terrorizing the neighborhood. Immersed in the fantasy world he created, our hero will have to solve puzzles, prove his agility and confront the monsters of his imagination in the quest to retrieve the stollen ball. The game plays as a rewarding 2.5D Puzzle Platformer mixed with bits of Exploration and Action, all taking place in a sci-fi - fantasy world. 
 Growing up is targeted towards medium to hard-core PC/Console players that enjoy a challenging game with and artistic visual style. The main developing platforms are PC and Mac but the gameplay is also suitable for Consoles. Mobile platforms are considered but secondary since the game mechanics would have to be modified.

April 2014 Production Overview

Another month passed, another video update. April was a super busy month at my full-time job so unfortunately I didn’t managed to advance as much as I planned with my little pet project.

What I Worked On
For the most part of the month worked on the enemies with a focus on avoiding contact.
- I made a Sentinel Enemy that is almost complete thought the AI still requires some tweaks. It can detect the player and moving objects and can be disabled (made friendly).
- I also started working on the Spider Enemy but it only has some very basic behavior so a lot of work is still needed until it will be done.
- I implemented KeyCards and MedPacks as a tribute to the video games I grew up with.
- I created a horizontal moving platform that can be used to carry other objects as well.

What’s Not Done
Being still in early alpha everything is super work in progress, from the GUI to the camera motion, however I would still like to point out some of the big ones:
- The hero character is just a placeholder – it will look very different :) For the player I’m using the awesome 2D Platform Controller from JNA Mobile.
- The Environment desperately needs and overhaul which is what I’m gonna work on next.
- There are many game-play elements that are missing even from this first 2 minutes and I’m not happy with the overall pacing yet.

What’s Next
May will be an even busier month at FullControl with Early Access release approaching fast so I don’t believe I will have any free time to work on Growing Up. However if I’ll find some spare time I would like to finish the Sentinel AI, the Spider and do an environment overhaul.
