Why some planets are btighter than the others?

Also, a larger galaxy might be playable (at least theoretically) if you're a part of an alliance (or just one admiral or governor of a faction) and you have to fight only in a small part of the Galaxy. And the AI will control the other admirals/governors of the faction (an AI with a little bit of identity disorder but whatever).

This should be playable and give the sense that you're a part of a bigger Galaxy. Especially if you'll have to support your AI friends in time of desperate need, combining fleets, performing simultaneous attacks with multiple attack vectors on an enemy, and pretty much doing whatever it takes to **** off and take out the enemy AI factions.

Of course, this could prove to be too much for the computer.

The background glow appears brighter when there are more planets close together because of the additive blend mode used for rendering.

There is still a few key features incomplete so cant play test the map properly just yet.

Mmm, galaxy generator reminds me of SPAZ more than Spore.

Description

Screenshot taken when stress testing the galaxy generator with 2,000 planets!

I haven't decided on the maximum size allowed yet, but would imagine 1,000+ planets may not be suitable for game play and performance reasons. They look great though.

You can view some full size (4096x4096) versions here:
