The Purpose?

To provide a realistic but humorous experience of the Finnish Military Service (conscription, 'intti') around the year 2011. We want you to feel nostalgic! RK 62, M05, hazing / bullying ('simputus'), NBC Alarms (‘suojeluhälytys’)…

The Catch?

The player can relate to the content if she/he has been through the Finnish Army. Strong language, black humor, strict guidelines, repetitive tasks, simple core mechanics are the heart of the game.

The Education?

Ever wondered what your pals experienced during their time in the army? You were in a different platoon and didn’t have a chance to participate in the same training? Now you can choose your own educational branch and see what it’s been like!

The Mechanics?

Remember those good old “track and field” type of games? How about “Tony Hawk” games? This game will feature a lot of mechanics that many will remember from their childhood. Furthermore, RPG elements like dialogues, inventory, player stats, free roaming, skill trees etc. will provide additional depth to the gameplay.

The Story?

The game will have a “meta plot”. The player will be able to reveal army secrets that shouldn’t be commonly known. The player also maintains connection to the outside world by watching TV news and participating in activities during the weekend holidays which both will affect the gameplay.

Finnish Army Simulator PC Game Launches on January 13th, 2023

The Finnish Army Simulator PC game, developed by Please Be Patient Ltd., launches in Early Access on January 13th, 2023. Players will be able to experience life in the army during conscription service, focusing on the atmosphere and daily routine in the army which includes immature humor and silly, repetitive tasks as well as gamified mechanics of actual army training.

According to lead developer Jeri Haapavuo, "We are happy that the game is in Early Access and finally out to the fans. It has been a long journey to get here, but we are excited to see players experience a unique and deep experience of army life. It has been rewarding to find out that this experience is shared by many countries, especially those in which conscription service exists. But I am sure we have made the characters and stories relatable to everyone, regardless of their background.”

Finnish Army Simulator is a first-person simulation game. However, it is not your typical war game, it focuses on the life in the army during conscription service and doesn't emphasize on battles. The game offers players the opportunity to experience various aspects of army life, providing a fresh perspective on the emotions and experiences brought on by army service.
